RULE ONE: KNOW THYSELF

Consultation will help one deal with issues and problems that have effected one through their life. It will help one to gain the thinking needed to follow this new philosophy. Now we will go in depth on the idea from the previous consultation list. One will learn how to live with these ideas and make one's mind and action in harmony with Truth.

This Consultation is also the first rule. Without it all else is almost impossible to achieve.

RULE 1. KNOW THYSELF

Sit still or be alone. Can you be alone with yourself? Do you like yourself? Do you know yourself well enough to like yourself or hate yourself?

To know thyself is a process.

One has to take into account different emotions, in different situations, with different individuals, with different stimuli, and different environments.

One must think of their past and how they responded and/or reacted. They must look at their present at how they react or respond. Is it the same? Is it better than the person of one's past? One must look to their future how would they act in situations that they know will arise.

One can't simply wait on such situations arising one must imagine themselves in different events and honestly see how they would react based on who they are now. Then create how they must respond to live up to their beliefs, to the individual they want to be.

To know thyself is to know why, how, and who?

One must know how these questions have shaped your thought patterns. People identities are made up of their thought patterns. These patterns are made up of what they believe, accept, and allow as truth.

One must understand what influences them, now and then, one's environment, now and then, and the people around you, now and then.

One must understand society as a whole to understand the individual. Understanding thyself is about knowing the history of the individual and the society as a whole. It's about knowing one's ancestry and heritage. In other words to know thyself is more than an egotistical stand to focus on one's own personage.

Whether one wants to admit it or not, one is created more by the choices of others than they ever are of their own will. The truth we are the sum of the choices of others that took place long before we were ever born. Choices that go far back in history, choices that most likely never had you in mind specifically or in general as a collective.

The first step in the process is to take an in depth look at what it is you believe.

The second step is to ask why have you been taught these beliefs? Most beliefs that people hold as part of their identity, they were taught at a young age. So ask yourself why did your parents, family members, friends, enemies, schools, culture, society, and so on teach you these things?

Why did they give these lessons? Was it for you to behave for their convenience, to be accepted by others, and/or because it was all they knew? Ask why?

When one understands further into the motivation of belief you will come to a simple conclusion. That most of what you were taught was so that you would be accepted into the group identity. The family, the ethnicity, the race, the class, all of these and more was about shaping you to be able to assimilate into the group dynamic created before you ever existed. In fact you may quickly realize that when you don't act in the ways that these groups have created you will be shunned, even made an outcast in more extreme cases. Many beliefs are not about character or about truth they are simply about not being different.

There, in essence, is nothing wrong with this group acceptance teaching. As long as the group is teaching that the TRUTH is the only true guide in creating a society. When this is not so or not the case then it is very damaging. Then these false beliefs become mental diseases passed on from generation to generation.

Remember as humans evolved from the apes acceptance was survival. If the group did not accept you that meant you were on your own. That would most likely mean death for the average social based creature. This need to be in the group but also be accepted by the group has not only created this great need to believe things that are not true but is one of the sources of human suffering.

The third step is to ask do you truly believe these things?

Do you truly believe them? Do you live your life based on these beliefs? Do your thoughts focus on these beliefs? Do your action reflect these beliefs? If the answer is no or sometimes here sometimes there, then you don't truly believe them. Which means it will be easier to let them go because your no longer holding on to them just to be accepted.

The fourth step is to understand your basic urges, impulses, and needs. Most urges are obvious, hunger, breathing, sleeping and sex.

The things that make up the body's ability to sustain life or continue life, as well as bring pleasure to oneself.

Impulses are not always as easy to state because different people have different impulses. One most learn their individual impulses. They should follow those feeling that you say should do especially when these impulses are bad for you in the short or long term.

One's needs are also not as easy to state. Some people have a need for love, while other power. Needs fulfill us on a basic and higher function level. Each personality type has their own needs. Needs must be understood how did they came to be? Are they natural basic needs or needs created from a sense of lack or a want for more of.

Yes we can have all of these urges, impulses and needs but some people will do without love if they have power and vice versa.

One must be honest with themself and know what they truly need in life to be happy and fulfilled and not base it on what others say is wrong or should lead to sadness. Many in society would say power without love would make one lonely and unhappy. This may be true for them however to say it's true for every single individual is absurd.

What is your programming? This may be the easiest or the most difficult to understand. The simplest way to describe this is to ask yourself why do you become offended by certain things and not others? Why do you become upset by some images and not others? Why do you become happy with some ideas but not others?

Some programming is not only good but also needed. Some of one's programming is as old as human life on this planet. Some of it is has been created in just the last couple thousand years. Ask yourself why do images of natural acts disgust even embarrass you? Yet images of unnatural pollution or pains seem to not even register or at least not have the same visceral emotional reaction. Is there any logic behind it? Have you every attempted to put real logic to the things you are programmed to react too?

Your programming is about being accepted. One is programmed to act in ways that will make them acceptable to the group or crowds they belong too, whether they chose the group or not.

What is the history of what you believe? One doesn't just look at one's personal history with such beliefs. One must also look at the history of that belief. Look into the history of those before oneself that have believed the same things. It is from them that the belief comes from. Is it what you have been taught? Is the history of what you believe true? Was or is the belief grounded in logic? Or is the belief completely based on feelings?

After one goes through this process, with all of their belief systems, they will truly know what it is they believe.

In Reverence, is my faith
